The Lahore High Court has summoned the woman who accused former national cricket team captain Babar Azam of harassment.

According to details, Justice Asjad Ghural of the Lahore High Court heard the case regarding the court’s order to register a harassment case against the former captain. The judge directed that the complainant woman be summoned for the next hearing and ordered the investigating officer to prepare and present her statement. The court clarified that if the petitioner fails to appear at the next hearing, a decision will be made in her absence.

It is worth mentioning that the court has issued a stay order on Babar Azam’s petition since 2021.

During the hearing, Babar Azam’s lawyer stated that the woman had made harassment allegations against the cricketer, following which the additional sessions judge ordered the registration of a case. The lawyer argued that the additional session judge’s decision was made contrary to the facts.

The lawyer requested that the decision of the additional session judge be declared null and void, alleging that baseless accusations were made to damage the petitioner’s reputation.
